Maria Kristiansen

Former intern, 8 months 2014

Maria interned with Momentum as part of her Master’s degree in Development and International Relations from Aalborg University. She wanted to do the internship to pursue her interest in Africa and to learn more about economic and political aspects of development work. Maria finished her studies in 2015, and she is currently working as a Project Leader at Netværk for Bæredygtig Erhvervsudvikling NordDanmark – a network of private companies working to promote sustainable practices with regards to the environment and energy.

The best thing about being a Momentum intern was to get the chance to experience both rural Kenya and Nairobi. This allowed me to see the great contrast between the two. I enjoyed being able to get to know the country in a way that tourists don’t: I got a good network of locals, which gave me valuable insights to the local culture.
